How Can My 11am Smoothie Help You?

Because it represents a small but powerful shift.

Today, I decided not to just sit down at my desk and get sucked into my inbox. Because I work from the same desk pretty much 5 days a week, I am very much guilty of getting stuck in an organisational and environmental rut.

I do emails.
I do meetings.
I do amazing sessions with women.
I do admin.
I do, I do, I do, on repeat....

I love it all, but I need to get used to mixing things up a little. Because even the smallest turn of our structure dial, can have immeasurable positive impacts.

My 11am smoothie, came after an early morning run and a really great Harvard Business Review podcast. None of it particularly felt like work, but it was and I needed to continually remind myself of that fact before the guilt crept in.

Work comes in many forms, and has many faces. When we get stuck in the same routine day in, day out, we do ourselves a disservice: creativity and inspiration need different stimulus, different timings, different 11am rituals.

Today, I was working on a piece of filming for a new client, and I wanted to get it right; I wanted to feel calm and in control. So I mixed things up, and it worked a treat.

I was on form.

So let this be your gentle reminder, that different days are so important. They keep us fresh and make life and work more fun in the process too. If you book in a coffee with a friend for your 11am one day this week then you're still being productive and hard working.

Hard work shows up in many guises.

What are you going to commit to this week, so that you feel all of those good vibes too? Write it in the comments below and you'll be more likely to keep to you word.

I'm listening.
