How To Build Positive Self-Esteem

As the never-ending coronacoaster rides on, I think we could all do with a bit of a boost in the self-esteem department.

There is a part to deepening your self-esteem that relies on taking more control of yourself, your actions and your emotions; in the business, we call it Self Mastery.

Learn to master these facets of yourself and your life, and you will move forward consciously and steadily towards your goals, which in turn grows self-esteem too. Win, win.

The more successes you achieve, the better you’ll feel about yourself. So, here are 3 steps to help you on your way.

Set Goals

Work out your short-term and long-term objectives. The clearer you are about what you want to achieve in life, the easier it is to move forward calmly and confidently.

Control Your Attitudes and Emotion

Find achievable ways to do this by focusing on something positive every day: start a gratitude diary and re-read the entries. Gratitude can start with the simplest appreciations.

Avoid Self-Sabotage

Resist the temptation to blame yourself when things go wrong. If you find that you’re undermining yourself, consciously make yourself stop. This relies on you being aware of your inner voice and stopping that critic if it gets too loud.

Achieving self-mastery takes time and hard work, but it’s definitely worth the effort!
